Are you a note taker, or a list maker?

Is it possible the world divides as neatly as this? Do some of us take notes, while others make lists?

What I do know — unequivocally — is that a splendid alchemy occurs when you put your thoughts down on actual paper. Ideas become clearer, and tasks seem less intimidating. A good list is nothing less than an “antidote to confusion” (a Maira Kalman expression I’ve long adored).

In fact, we have a friend who has been known to write down a task already accomplished, for the pure pleasure of checking it off a to-do list. (Ok, that friend is us.)

For the note taker, we have an elegant giraffe encouraging your thoughts, on a soothing French blue palette. Blue, we’re told, is the color most conducive to new ideas.

For the list maker, we have our Busy Bee. In fresh green to provide a buzz of energy — and, incidentally, that classic Palm Beach color combo, pink and green.

Each pad contains 75 tearaway pages, and a luxe smooth paper stock to let your pencil glide. Order one, or both, online here. Tuck in a matching pen — we favor those slim Japanese LePens that come in a rainbow of colors — and our notepads make a great hostess gift for just $7.50 each.
